You may request deferred disposition (probation) by mailing in your request or by appearing in municipal court. If eligible, an offer for probation may be extended to you and may require you to: pay court cost, fees and comply with other terms as dictated by the court. Successful completion of deferred disposition results in the dismissal of this ticket. You will need to either write us a letter requesting deferred disposition or select the Deferred Disposition option on the back of your ticket, circle your plea, and fill in your current mailing address.

You will need to enclose with your request, payment in the form of a check or money order for the amount of court cost and special expense fee (call office for amounts).

Once we have received both the money and request, we will send you the Deferral form that you will need to sign and return to our office by a due date that we will specify.

Once you have done all this, your probation will begin and if your probation is not violated, your ticket will be dismissed.

Eligibility If you are under the age of 25, and you want to take deferred disposition, you will be required to take a Driver's Safety Course within 90 days of the deferred agreement. Failing to take a DSC course will result in a violation of your probation. You must enter a plea of no contest or guilty. You are NOT eligible if you hold a CDL license, were speeding 25 mph over the posted limit, speeding in a construction zone with workers present or were charged with an offense of Fail to ID at an accident, leaving scene of accident, fleeing, reckless driving, or passing a school bus. You must be prepared to pay all the court cost plus a special expense fee.
