You may be able to request to take a driving safety course/motorcycle safety course to dismiss this case. However, you will loose that right if you do not provide written notice to the court within eleven (11) days from the date of this citation of your desire to do so. Requirements (after permission has been granted, you will have 90 days to complete the following:)

You will need to either write us a letter requesting to take Driver's Safety or select the Driver's Safety option on the back of your ticket, circle your plea, and sign the ticket with your current mailing address.

You will need to enclose with your request, payment in the form of a check or money order for the amount of court cost and administrative fee (call office for amounts)

Once we have received both the money and request, we will send you the D.P.S. form that you will need to get a copy of your driving record, and we will send you the Affidavit that you will need to sign in front of a notary, and return to our office by a due date that we will specify.

Once you have done all this, you will be given 90 days to bring back a DSC Certificate and your driving record

You must provide the court with a copy of proof of liability insurance. You must enter a plea of no contest or guilty. You must not have taken DSC within the past 12 months. You are NOT eligible if you hold a CDL license, were speeding 25 mph over the posted limit, speeding in a construction zone with workers present or were charged with an offense of Fail to ID at an accident, leaving scene of accident, fleeing, reckless driving, or passing a school bus. You must be prepared to pay all the court cost plus a $10 administrative fee.
