Court Appearances

Court Appearance

State law requires you to make an appearance in your case, your appearance date is noted on your citation, bond paperwork or release papers, with most citations, you have eleven (11) days to enter an appearance with the Court.  Adult defendants (age 17 or older) you or your attorney may make an appearance by delivering your plea in person to the court, in writing by mail or email, A TELEPHONE CALL DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AS AN APPEARANCE.  Juvenile defendants must make an appearance in open court with a parent or legal guardian, juveniles will be mailed notice of their court date and time to appear.   Most violations can be handled with the court clerk, however, if you feel you need to speak to the Judge regarding extenuating circumstances for him/her to consider or discuss options that a court clerk does not have authority to offer, you may enter a plea of Guilty or No Contest  and request to be scheduled for a Plea Docket hearing.
