Speeding or Traffic Complaint

One of the most common complaints that we receive is about speeding or unsafe driving. Please use this webform to inform us about where you are seeing a speeding or general driving issue.

When we receive a speeding complaint one of the first things that we do is put up a speed survey device in the area of the complaint. This is a non-descript box that you might not even see that measures speeds on that stretch of roadway and logs it with date and time stamps. This allows the VPD to see exactly how bad the issue is and what times the issue is occurring. This box is meant to blend in so that it does not change people's driving behavior.

After we collect the data, we target the area with officers during times when the speed survey showed issues. We may also put up a radar sign in an attempt to alert drivers to their speed by flashing when they exceed a certain speed above the posted speed limit.

We appreciate you taking the time to help us by filling out this form as we cannot be everywhere to see where all the issues are. If you have any questions about the process please email contact@venuspolice.org or call (972) 366-3547.
